Mark Platshon , Partner, VantagePoint Venture Partners
Mark joined VantagePoint after serving as a Venture Partner at Trident Capital and at XSeed Capital. Mark has over 20 years of experience as CEO of several Silicon Valley companies including Idetek, an environmental and food diagnostics company, ELO, the pioneer and leader in touchscreens, Zing, an online photography company, and most recently, Capnia, a specialty pharmaceutical company. Mark earned a B.S.E. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, did graduate work in Nuclear Engineering at the Westinghouse Naval Reactor School and received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. As a Navy lieutenant, Mark had a joint Navy and Department of Energy appointment to the staff of Admiral Hyman G. Rickover.
Brian Goncher , Alternative Energy & Clean Tech Practice Director, Deloitte
Brian is one of the leaders of Deloitte’s Clean Tech practice which was formed in 2005 to focus on this rapidly growing market. Brian has worked extensively with clean technology companies and has deep industry insight into the issues that these companies face. His experience spans solar, wind, transportation, battery storage, fuel cells and energy efficiency companies. Teaming with partners from the firm’s Technology, Energy/Utilities and Life Sciences practices, Brian has been instrumental to making Deloitte a leader in Clean Tech.
Brian joined Deloitte in 2004 and his primary focus is building venture capital relationships, working with venture capital funds and their portfolio companies to provide innovative service offerings and quality professional services. He has over 20 years of financial and operating experience, including stints at Bank of America, four high-growth companies (Buyers Club, Gear 1, ArtSearch and Astoria Software), Coopers & Lybrand, C&L, Frontier Ventures and Crystal Ventures.

Nadeem Sheikh, Director for Client Solutions, OPOWER
Based in San Francisco, Nadeem is responsible for leading OPOWER's relationships with major electric and gas utilities in the US and abroad, partnering to bring OPOWER's energy efficiency and smart grid solutions to their customers. Prior to OPOWER, Nadeem spent 4 years at McKinsey & Company, where he helped found the Firm's Sustainability & Resource Productivity Practice. At McKinsey, Nadeem led large client projects for consumer products companies, startups, and investment funds, helping them capitalize on new consumer-facing cleantech business opportunities. In addition, Nadeem directed McKinsey's global market research program on consumer behavior and sustainability.Nadeem has also held roles at Accenture Technology Ventures, Lufthansa Airlines, and Gap Inc. He earned his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Micah Myers , Investment Associate, Claremont Creek Ventures
Micah Myers joined Claremont Creek Ventures in 2009. Prior to joining Claremont Creek Ventures, Micah worked as an Analyst with the energy team at Passport Capital where he focused on both public and private investments in the renewable energy sector and as a Product Manager at Clean Power Finance, a residential solar finance start up. He has been in operational roles for over 15 years, and has experience in renewable energy, software and finance. Micah served more than eleven years active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a fighter pilot flying the F/A-18 Hornet and continues to serve as a reserve officer in the select reserves.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.
Kyle McCue, VP New Ventures, Prescience, Intl [moderator]
Kyle McCue has more than 15 years of experience in clean technology and high technology start-ups, including executive management, sales, marketing, and high-technology operations. Mr. McCue comes to Prescience International from Ternion Bio Industries where he served as CEO and was instrumental in leading the company to become the industries top algae cultivation technology provider. Mr. McCue also led the charge in Washington DC creating environmental and energy strategies as well as relationships with key decision makers, which led to key policy change.
Before embarking on his journey into the world of green technology, Mr. McCue served as an executive at several Silicon Valley startups. This included two nutraceutical companies where he served as Co-Founder and CEO. During the years prior to these ventures, Mr. McCue worked as a technologist and network architect for leading Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups including Corio, MCI, IBM, LSI Logic, Sun Microsystems and Cadence Designs. Mr. McCue started his career in the United States Army Military Intelligence.
