CALL FOR JUDGES: Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) - May 9-14, 2010 - a Society for Science & the Public event - San Jose, California
San Jose will host 1,500 of the worlds brightest and motivated future scientists and engineers at the ISEF. These high school students represent 53 countries and have already won local or national science competitions to win the right to come to San Jose for this truly global event. The ISEF student "finalists" will compete for $4 million in awards, which include scholarships, cash awards, and other prizes. The top prizes include unrestricted $50,000 scholarships, and a trip to the next Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm!
A highly qualified pool of over 1,000 judges is needed to evaluate these advanced projects (about 20% already have patents filed or approved). The judging days are May 11 and Wednesday, May 12 at the San Jose Convention Center. A judge must have a PhD, MD, or BS/MS with at least 6 years professional experience in the field they plan to judge. We welcome any qualified judges to submit an application on the ISEF Judges webpage.
This is a rare opportunity to see the face of the future of science and engineering in the world gathered in one location. Judges invariably find the experience to be a rewarding and inspiring experience.
